Now and then I think of when I used to do this
Like when I said this was a simple thing to build
I told myself that it was right for me
To build this software for your company
But I was wrong and it’s an ache I still remember

You can get addicted to a certain kinda project
Like a death march to the end, always the end
So when we found that it could not make sense
To do this project with this recompense
Then I’ll admit that I was glad it was over

But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that I did nothing
I don’t even need your cash, but you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough

Guess that I don’t need that though
